Synopsis

It is time to go home. Kate and Amanda scramble over the bank guarding the little stream at the bottom of Kate's garden when Amanda suddenly stands still, a chill running down her spine as she stares at the water. It is not the stream but a mighty river, with a boiling and bubbling turmoil of swollen waters. The hill behind them that was part of Kate's garden, is now a towering mountain and no matter where they turn, they are surrounded by huge mountain peaks spiking into the sunny mist above them. They had been transported back in time at the whim of the dark forces, always happy to tempt those who do not heed warnings and positive arguments!

Now they find themselves in the rough and unforgiving world of the Fraser Canyon Gold Rush of 1858 where law and order mean nothing and rotgut whisky is king. As they come to terms with what is going on around them, Kate and Amanda stumble on a devious and complex plan to attack the unsuspecting population of a settlement up river that will produce grisly and fatal consequences. For James, it is his nightmare coming to life and he and the girls are sickened. Forgetting their own fears they go to warn the settlers of their fate.

Their journey along the menacing and unforgiving river that is the Fraser, is treacherous and threatened by attacks from enemies desperate to prevent James, Kate and Amanda from reaching their destination at all costs.
